The Mind 09/07/2010

Have you ever continuously sent out a strong emotional thought of, "I really don't want XYZ to happen", and somehow you only attract that situation into your life?  Why is this?  If we are truly powerful manifesting beings, why do we sometimes manifest what we really don't want to occur?  There may have a variety of personal excuses and explanations for this, yet the most basic understanding is that, "whatever we resist, will persist."  It is a paradoxical world we live in and the key to transcending it is to embrace everything and resist nothing.  The only way to master life is to be at peace with it and within it.

Any time you put up an inner energetic/emotional wall and resist anything or anyone, you'll find that your mind is fiercely focusing upon the negative aspects of what you don't want, instead of thinking about what you really want to manifest in your life.  Vibrationally, we are like magnets and only attract that which we continuously focus upon with great emotion.  So if you can stop focusing upon something, you'll stop resisting it and stop manifesting it.  However to control the mind takes great awareness, patience and love.  It also takes knowing your true divine infinite nature that fears absolutely nothing.  For as divine beings, we've all set it up so that every little thing that we focus on grows, expands and returns to us naturally like a boomerang.  You cannot get rid of your inherent manifesting magnet nature. If you could choose somehow train your mind to obsessively resist feelings of joy, love, abundance and gratitude, it'd be a fantastic way of manifesting those aspects into your life.

"Become more and more innocent, less knowledgeable and more childlike.
Take life as fun - because that's precisely what it is!" ~Osho

Perhaps you may have noticed this resistance habit show up in your relationships?  Have you ever noticed when you start to think something is "wrong" about somebody or believe that they truly "should" be more like you or different, your body instantly tightens contracts and goes into "resistance mode".  This internal rejection of life is a ridiculous attempt to protect the ego in some way and is an ignorance of our Divine Nature.  It's good to know that your ego is like a shadow.  When you get close to it, you discover that there is nothing really there!  Sure, it seems real, yet is simply an illusionary contracted ball of festering belief systems blocking the brilliant light of your own infinite being.  When someone makes fun of you (your ego) truly nobody is under attack.  How can you attack a shadow?  The ego is a juicy, fragmented yet false figment of your mind's imagination.  The day that you realize what your ego is, is the same moment your eyes open to see that you are truly a divine infinite blessed being.

"The real Self is eternal. It has no origin and no end. The other "I" is born and dies.

 It is impermanent." ~Ramana Maharishi

Life is here to be explored and experienced on every level.  Even resistance is a valid experience that needs to be explored.  How else could you know what freedom was unless there was some release of resistance?  Once you discover the Divine essence that you truly are, you will be freed from who you think you are and what you usually resist.  It's good to know that resistance is simply a subtle form of fear.  If you can embrace your fear with love, then ALL resistance dissolves.  Eventually one day you will no longer resist anything, see everything as connected to the Divine and embrace it all.  That is the day that you will have discovered the Divine Beings we all truly are and will have truly transcended all future suffering.

To be totally free from resistance is to master your mind.  The mind is easily trained when your body remains absent from fear.  If you are resisting any aspect of life, you are focusing (on some level) on what you fear.  Fear is that one thing people resist the most.  It was created by a great misunderstanding; that you are separate from a loving Infinite Source.  You can transcend all fear in your life by simply welcoming it.  This can only be done by confining yourself to the present moment when the fear arises.  Feel the fearful feeling, yet do not imprison yourself in its thoughts and feelings, go deeper...through it...and surrender to the presence of your eternal being.  Find the river of consciousness that penetrates you and surrounds you.  When you discover this river, you will find a much greater understanding of resistance and the freedom to release it.

Ever have a dream at night, when you wondered in the middle of it whether or not you were dreaming?

Knowing that if you were "just" dreaming, you could rewrite the scary parts and enhance the happy parts: run faster, jump higher, laugh your head off; summon guides, travel through time, read minds; levitate, manifest, do the impossible?
But then, you thought to yourself, "No, this just can't be a dream, it's way too real."

Yeah, you're having one right now.  Notice how dreams and your life are being created by you so fast, you barely notice that you're making it up as you go along!

Gosh you're good -

A simple practice for improving  your experience in life,

1. Start each day remembering that we all want the same things (to be happy and be loved) and we are all connected to one another.

2. Spend 5 minutes breathing in, cherishing yourself; and, breathing out cherishing others. If you think about people you have difficulty cherishing, extend your love to them anyway.

3. During the day extend that attitude to everyone you meet.  Practice cherishing even people you tend to look down upon or dislike in some way.

4. Continue this practice no matter what happens or what anyone does to you for 7 days and notice what happens to your life!

Two wolves 08/25/2010

Picture

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson a
bout  a battle that goes on Inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

I want to take a look at the history of karma as it affects life experience and combine it with teachings of manifesting.

As a manifesting teacher and psychic reader I have come across many clients from the East and West have adopted a belief in karma.

Karma is central to the Hindu concept of reincarnation (death and rebirth) After a death a person’s soul or energy essence moves into a new body and is reborn. The soul could become a king, an animal or even a butterfly, where the soul goes is determined by karma – re the previous thoughts, words, and action of the person that the soul inhabited. So if their previous karma was good they will be reborn into a higher state of life. If the karma was bad the soul will inhabit a lower state.

Some clients believe they are doomed or fated to good or bad luck depending on karma which some believe to be divine in nature. So if a client comes to me with a belief in karma and are having a bad or series of bad experiences, they feel trapped or doomed to karma.

Yet the secret tells us we cause reality to bend according to our thought and feelings. Good vibe bad vibe kind of thing. This is similar to cause and effect, re the Hindu belief in karma. Both philosophies have to incorporate liberty for the person involved in order to make a balance.

Are you to blame for something unpleasant happening in your life? Or are you just responsible to make better choices in your present and leave your karma, history or ‘baggage’ behind in the past where it belongs? Perhaps a bit of both?

In Theta Healing we can take a look and resolve beliefs on all four levels. Core level, Genetic Level, History Level and Soul Level.

In plain terms if you suffer distrust this is due to experience or history, soul, genetic or core programming, therefore under your control to change. The trick is not to carry your baggage or karma into the rest of your life or believe you are always to be the victim of it, but to face it head on, address what needs balancing and feel free to access receiving and giving of joy.

Manifesting on purpose teaches people to encourage and amplify their ability to feel positive, it does not ask you to think positive 24/7. So much can be buried in the subconscious mind especially when people are afraid of feeling anything labelled ‘negative’.  Use all thoughts and feelings in a constructive or positive way, including the so called negative ones.  They are signs along the road of life.

When we look at the world of relationships there are many myths forming modern day perceptions of what a relationship should be like.

We have marriage, engagement, dating, relationships and friendships to put it in simplified boxes of comprehension. When it comes down to soul mates there are so many different views of what one is.

So let’s look at the origins of the term.

One theory of soul mates, presented by Aristophanes, in Plato’s symposium, states that humans were originally made of four arms, four legs and a head made up of two faces. Zeus, fearing humanity’s power, split them in half, thus condemning them to spend their lives looking for their other half.

This is not far off the spiritual basis of soul mates and twin flames. A soul mate can be anybody you feel affinity with. It can be someone you knew in a past life or someone you feel you knew the moment you met them. This person can be male or female. Some have soul mate platonic friendships with no physical attraction.
Some believe that were fated to play certain roles in each other’s lives and others that soul mates or twin flames are meant to be together.

The challenges arise when the idea of it’s ‘meant to be’ comes in. This idea that somehow a relationship is destined and therefore no matter the challenges it will work out is what tends to unglue people from dealing with issues and challenges arising in their relationships. Sure, you maybe destined to meet but what you do with each other tends to lay in the free will box. Yeah, we've all heard of that, free agency! You do not have to stay with someone because you feel they’re your soul mate if the relationship becomes destructive with no way that both partners want to change. You will however have chances to work things out with your partner when you have a basis of love, affinity, harmony and attraction.

In my life, I’ve met many soul mates of mine. They’ve come in the form of friendships, relationships, dating partners and business partners. All have one thing in common, a sense I get of familiarity or knowing even when I’ve never met them before in this life.

A few years ago I organized a group workshop in my house, people were asked to bring food. I had been waiting for one particular participant to come whos’ voice I recognised from the first time we spoke on the phone. He arrived just as I was talking to a lady saying to her, where are you from, I’m sure I know you. She’d said I feel the same, but after tracing our entire lives we knew we’d never met before. As the man arrived he looked at me, walked straight into my kitchen and started to cook, everyone else had brought ready made food. This man and I started to speak and within minutes felt an overwhelming love, peace and ‘knowing’ and acknowledged it.

The lady, man and myself, never having met before, all became soul mate friends with a spiritual affinity beyond explanation.

One of the dangers of thinking whilst in a soul mate physical romantic relationship is that because it’s ‘meant to be’ it can be become overly intense or serious. Some of the fun can be taken out if you insist on ‘forever’ just because you feel ‘at home’ with your partner in the early days. There are some where we do feel just ‘fun’ and joy and naturally we want that to last forever, these I call ‘playmates’. They’re partners we date where the chemistry is fabulous and wild but not necessarily long lasting. However, they are valid, never a waste of time because they don’t last. The validity in this type of short lived playmate relationship is we get the unique input to PLAY. We remember that’s who we are, playful loving, exciting beings that relate in a fun way.

So many clients of mine believe a short lived fling or relationship is a waste of time, I say never. Some feel they waste their time if they are overly serious or suffering from a relationship that is going to end in an unhappy way. Even these teach us valuable lessons of who we are and how we relate to others, so again, never a waste of time.

This leads me onto stalemate relationships. Many have had an experience of that, where the relationship seems to get stuck in a pattern and very little pleasure. There are a number of reasons for that. You may find yourself waiting for your partner to change something in their lives, or simply waiting and hoping for change. These sorts of stale mate situations can be resolved IF both partners are equally willing to make the changes necessary to be together and communicate effectively with each other. What I call an irresolvable stalemate is normally when one partner does not want to communicate or put energy into the relationship. If this happens, and remains the same, invariably the relationship will end.

So, are you with one of your soul mates, playmates or in a stalemate? Remember, when asking or wishing for your partner to change, that can be one of the hardest things to do or acclimatize to. Changing old habits and patterns is all very well and good if YOU too are able to change your own behaviour.

We normally want our partners to change if we believe we’re right and they’re wrong, but that’s a whole other article! For now, wherever you are in the relationship area of your life, you can meet soul mates, at any age and can enjoy what you do have to the full. Enjoying your life even with its challenges is what magnetizes the right people at the right time to you. Your romantic compatible soul mate is normally a mirror of you. With Theta Healing you can learn to be happy with you, so your partner can be a celebration of love.

Only you can do it, and you can’t do it alone.

Cat and mouse true story.

This morning started out as usual. Yerba Mate Tea, checking e mails and then off for a walk with a friend through the gardens.  It was a beautiful sunny fresh morning.  We chatted, walked, looked at the flowers and laughed.  I came home with nothing but the thoughts of a lovely breakfast, soft boiled eggs, delicious. Everything changed when I went to open my kitchen door.
I saw my cats entranced by something behind the door I’d opened.

Sneaking a peek I saw this tiny gorgeous little mouse behind the door, petrified for it’s life. As well it might be!  Cute as they are (see pic) they’re lethal when they want to be. I kept the door jammed open but inaccessible to the cats (mouse hidden in corner behind door) and let what seemed like a tidal wave of thoughts move through my head in seconds.

All these thoughts rushed through my head at once. Literally at the speed of light, a jumble of different scenarios of what to do.  First off came the ‘oh it’s just nature, don’t interfere’. Then came the mother instinct to the dear sweet mouse, shouldn’t I try and rescue it?  As soon as I thought that, panic set it.

How on earth was I going to catch a mouse and keep it away from my cats at the same time.  My head spun back to I can’t and it’s just nature, leave it alone. Thankfully the mouse’s cute face had stuck in my head and ashamed to say it, so had the idea of the ensuing mess that could happen. Entrails would be left all over my lovely carpet, gruesome I thought. Knowing my cats it occurred to me that they would torture the poor thing for hours and certainly this wasn’t ‘nature’ as they are a rather well fed pampered pair. They definitely didn’t need to eat this mouse.

I still had this thought of ‘I can’t’.  Truth is I could if I had to, but so much easier and more fun with help!  Finally I got  the idea to get my friend who happens to be a neighbour and ask her to help. Oh there was a light bulb moment. Why is it we think we have to do things all alone?  I just knew she’d be great, she’s an animal lover and has rescued other animals and birds in distress.  She came in, somehow managed to bring with her a plant pot (handy that) and some card from the hallway to place under it. I got the cats right out and locked them in a room. She talked sweetly to the mouse and got it and took it to a safer place outside and into the lovely gardens.

So what do you do when you think something’s just natural?  Is it just natural to hold onto beliefs of a lifetime because they have become part of you, or would you like to change them?  I know only you can do it, and you can’t do it alone. Sometimes we just need a little helping hand with tricky beliefs and thoughts, just like I needed a hand with the mouse. At Theta Healing Academy we specialise in helping you change subconscious beliefs that have been holding you back from living the life you love.  Check out our sessions page if you’d like some help.

Isn't it common knowledge that DOG owners are said to take after their pets- probably with good reason. It appears that  dogs naturally copy human gestures in what is known as automatic imitation.

People subconsciously copy the gestures of others around them. An example, someone yawning will produce the observer yawning, and a person looking up encourages passers-by to do the exact same thing.

At the university of Vienna, Friederike Range  and peers wanted to see whether dogs' actions, were influenced by humans around them. They trained dogs to open a sliding door with either their mouth or paw.  One group of dogs were rewarded when they copied  the same method as their trainers, another when they used a different method. The team found that the second group took more practice to get this task right.  This suggests  that dogs are  subject to automatic imitation.

These findings support the concept that social animals automatically imitate others.  It's food for thought. Watch out who you hang out with. You may just find yourself immitating them. Hang out with people who inspire and bring out the best in you and you in turn will do the same for them.  Learning how to copy some of the happiest most successful people should be an easy task that even your pet dog can do.

Fans of aromatherapy may sprinkle lavender essential oil on their pillows to help them get a good night's sleep, or inhale the oil when they feel tense. But there's a new calming fragrance in town – jasmine.

According to a German study recently published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the fragrance naturally found in jasmine as well as it's man-made version have the same effect on the brain as commonly prescribed sleeping tablets and mood enhancers, including valium.

Drugs like valium work by boosting the effect of a brain chemical called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) that promotes relaxation and sleep, with low doses increasing the GABA effect by two to three times. However in tests on mice the German researchers discovered the natural and synthetic jasmine fragrances increased the GABA effect by up to five times.

The trouble with sleeping pills and other sedatives is that they can be addictive and have a range of potential side effects, including depression, dizziness and low blood pressure. But so far no one has found any risks associated with the smell of jasmine - and the researchers suggest it could be used for a variety of health problems including sleeplessness, anxiety and even aggression.

Ways to get your jasmine hit include growing your own plants (different varieties flower at different times of year), treating yourself to a bottle of jasmine essential oil, or splashing out on a designer perfume such as Jo Malone White Jasmine and Mint Cologne, Estée Lauder Private Collection Jasmine White Moss Eau de Parfum, or Bulgari Jasmine Noir Eau de Parfum.

At least you'll smell good.

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his
employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house
building business and live a more leisurely life with his
wife enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came
to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door
key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my
gift to you."

If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so
differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built
none too well.

So it is with us. We can find we built  our lives in a distracted way,
reacting rather than acting, we could be putting up with less than the best.
Then with a shock we look at the situation we
have created and find that we are now living in the house
we have built. We can do it differently from now. For sure there may need some repairs and re modelling.
Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house.
Build wisely.  Your life deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the
wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life
tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the
choices you make today. It will also be the results of your beliefs which hide behind your motivation and thoughts for building your life.. Come build with Theta Healing Academy and discover and change beliefs so that your house becomes a lifetime's work, a work of art and stability you will be proud to live in.

Hi everyone,
I pulled a tarot card for this time. They're from my own deck. I'ts totally appropriate, out of 78 cards I pulled the Sun.
The sun is a major arcana card, it's therefore representing the subconscious architypes in our minds.  We're in a heatwave in the UK so this card fits!  I love the way tarot works and opens doors to the psyche, just like Theta Healing opens doors to intutive abilities.  The sun also means this can be a time of warmth from friends, family, spouses, lovers and general soulmates to find each other.
It's a time to trust your intuition and to allow a childlike awe of the world and life to awaken in you.
Talking of children, this could be a high fertility time for some of you.

A time where you can remember and live what it feels like to be happy.
