Touch deprivation is a real thing
Many people across the world have had to cope with a lack of touch, especially during the past two years.
How does touch deprivation impact our lives?
A lack of touch has is known to be one of the biggest contributors to depression, anxiety, and mental/emotional health issues.
One of our human senses, the skin is the first to develop in the womb.
Our first sense of touch develops in the womb; this sense then becomes vital and contributes to the brain, heart, and emotional well-being.
Many say we have five senses. We have at least six.
A hug, even a firm handshake contributes to communication better than any verbal language used.
We can instantly feel close to others through touch. Messages are passed through the DNA to another through touch.
We can feel another's warmth through a hug, hand-holding, embrace or a kiss.
We still meet people afraid to touch, that won't touch and just give a knuckle to touch. Hopefully this will change, and change fast!
If you know anyone who's been feeling lonely, isolated, and depressed, ask their permission and give them a hug.
Ask if you can hold someone's hand.
Just as in our courses/sessions we always ask permission to give healing, even if we're not touching.
The healing energy will touch their soul, energy field, and all of who they are.
Self-touch
There is a simple comforting technique you can use on yourself.
Palms facing towards your body, cross your palms over the opposite arms.
Rub your palms up and down your arms. Repeat for as long as necessary until you feel the comfort of your own healing touch.
